A full season of straight, no-handicap snooker — play it as it lies against the rest of the field.
Alongside our Sunday night handicap league, The Red Triangle runs a season-long Scratch League — straight snooker with no handicaps applied, for players who want to test themselves against the field on level terms. Like the handicap league, it runs across the full season from September through to May, with results building towards standings and a finals night at the end of the campaign, so it's a real commitment for anyone who fancies a proper run at the title rather than a one-off knockout.
Straight scratch snooker — every player competes on level terms, all season long.
Runs alongside our Sunday night handicap league, September 2026 through to May 2027.
Results count towards the league table across the season, building to an end of season finals night.
Whether you fancy your chances at the top table or just want to test yourself, everyone's welcome to enter.
Runs week commencing 7th September 2026 to week commencing 9th April 2027 — 30 weeks of league play.
£25 per player, payable in full by 31st July 2026. All league players must be current club members.

The new season runs from the week commencing 7th September 2026 until the week commencing 9th April 2027 — a total of 30 weeks of league play.
Entry fee is £25 per player, payable in full by 31st July 2026. All league players must be current club members, which also qualifies you for the club's reduced table rates on league matches.
Premiership — 13 players, each playing every other player once. After this first phase, the league splits into two groups: the top 6 form a Championship Group, the bottom 7 a Relegation Group, with all first-phase points carrying forward. Players then play everyone in their group again. At the end of the season, 2 players are relegated and 2 are promoted from Division 1. If a Premiership player withdraws during or before the season, the highest-ranked eligible Division 1 player is promoted automatically.
Division 1 — all players play each other across the full 30-week season, with the same expectation of 3 matches every 5 weeks.
Any new players joining the league to fill a vacant place will automatically enter in the lowest division.
Please allow plenty of time to complete matches — a 4–3 match can take up to around 3 hours.
All players are expected to make a genuine effort to complete at least 3 matches every 5 weeks. You'll receive a guideline fixture list — it's a guide only, and it remains each player's own responsibility to arrange their matches. Fixtures can be played in advance if both players agree, and if a scheduled opponent isn't available, try to arrange another fixture where possible to stay on track.
Any Premiership player who fails to complete their fixtures faces automatic relegation, occupying one of the relegation places, and this will also be put to a player vote regarding their participation in future seasons. Players adversely affected by an opponent's unplayed matches are protected from relegation as a result — responsibility rests with the player(s) who failed to fulfil their fixtures.
If you're struggling to arrange a match, or you think someone is falling behind, please contact the committee. Players are also encouraged to help by arranging matches with opponents who may be behind, so every division stays on track and every player gets a fair chance to complete their fixtures.
Players are responsible for booking their own tables, and must tell the club it's a league fixture to qualify for any available discounted rate — it's worth reminding staff again before the match starts. Table costs are shared equally between both players.
Match results must be posted in the league WhatsApp group, along with any qualifying breaks: 50 or higher in the Premiership, 40 or higher in Division 1. By entering the league, all players agree to have their phone number shared within the WhatsApp group for the purpose of arranging fixtures — fixture dates are guidelines only and can be rearranged by mutual agreement.
As the club can be very busy, league matches may be played on any day or evening, subject to table availability.
League matches cannot be played on Sunday evenings until the Handicap Tournament has finished and the tables have been released for general use.
The club also runs its Junior Academy every other Saturday, during which a number of tables will be reserved.
The committee — Raymond, Tom and Matt — can't change league rules independently. Any proposed rule changes or league issues will be put to all players for a vote; if a vote is tied, the existing rule remains in place.
At the end of the season we'll hold an Open Knockout Cup — £10 entry per player, open draw, and we hope all 32 league players will take part. Prize money and its distribution are currently being finalised and will be announced in due course.
